Introducing Artificial Luminosity - aka Art Lumin.
In an effort to foster transparency, I decided two things:
I believe it is important to experiment with Chat GPT and similar AI/ML capabilities.
I also believe that identifying discreet human works vs. machine output is also important. There are many moral / ethical issues we are facing as humans and business society - now and the foreseeable future. It is clearly the wild west days.
Therefore, I have come up with a pseudonym (pen name) for the AI author of machine generated content. It is a simple act that I hope others will consider. How else could/should we be identifying and differentiating the human vs machine output dilemma? I actually saw this idea executed first by Braden Kelley Human-Centered Change and Innovation | Innovation, change and transformation thought leadership, lovingly curated by Braden Kelley. Well played sir.
So, Art Lumin will be given credit for content on this site and other places, where possible. This innovation experiment will:
See if anyone notices
Do they care?
Are they willing to share opinions and ideas about this? Contact me directly.
Ultimately, see if SEO or other machine optimization, ranking, etc. are impacted. (Long term study that will probably be executed by others before I get around to it.
Etc. If time permits I will set up a more formal experiment in TopLine. My favorite new tool for #GSD - Getting Shit Done. (My words, not theirs.) It is an early release stage product designed to help manage the chaos and let you get the latest status without needing meetings. And, it helps make the required meetings shorter / better. Hoping Treb and his team the very best.
I had a whole ideation session with myself and ran "Art Lumin" by a number of people in the tech world and not. Art is simple enough as clear nod to artificial, but the last name was harder. After deep searches around definitions, synonyms and similar I chose Lumin based on the 2nd definition point here: Luminosity Definition & Meaning | Dictionary.com: "the quality of being intellectually brilliant, enlightened, inspired, etc.: The luminosity of his poetry is unequaled."
The notion of radiating or shedding light is also important concept, as I believe AI/ML tools can help us humans see through the clutter and indeed find patterns and trends that we are less likely to see on our own. Or at least not as quickly. There is copious amounts of content supporting this value, but I was recently inspired by my read of the engaging book "The Code Breaker" by Walter Isaacson. The Code Breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race: Isaacson, Walter: 9781982115852: Amazon.com: Books
This seemed fitting to me. So, Art Lumin is born. Or is it launched????
P.S. - if not obvious, Art's image was created using OpenAI's DALL-E

<<< This is another take on Art I quite liked. Creating faces seems to be one of the hardest things, and making decisions about what style to present.
